The Design Story
Engaged prior to construction commencing, Patina Design Studio was brought into this off-plan Rose Bay penthouse to strategically refine the layout, improve long-term functionality and elevate the overall architectural outcome before key decisions were locked in.
Buying off-plan often means accepting generic developers’ layouts that fail to reflect how people actually live. Working closely with the clients, Patina Design Studio reworked the floor plan to better support their day-to-day routines, entertaining requirements and long-term liveability, implementing key spatial and structural changes before construction locked them in.
Beyond spatial refinement, Patina Design Studio redesigned the kitchen and joinery throughout the residence to better support the way the clients wanted to live within the space, while carefully curating finishes and decorative lighting to create a more cohesive and refined interior environment.
Throughout construction, Patina Design Studio acted as client representative on site, coordinating closely with the builder, architect, developer, joiner and stone mason to ensure all design changes were clearly communicated and executed with consistency and precision.
The project also includes complete furniture curation, drawing from a carefully developed network of local and international suppliers, artisans and makers to create a cohesive and deeply personalised penthouse environment with warmth, sophistication and individuality.
